This is Halo Mega Bloks set 96947 Covenant Weapons Pack. The
set has 24 pieces and was released in 2011.
The set comes with a Crimson Combat Elite. Crimson was an
interesting color choice as opposed to just plain red. His armor has a very
clean look to it, as if it were brand new.
Welcome additions to any Covenant armory. My favorite is the Carbine! |
Weapons include Covenant beam rifle, carbine, and plasma
pistol. Each weapon is painted with accurate detailing that makes the weapons
look closer to how they actually look in-game.
That Elite should duck... |
Also included in the set is a weapons stand, along with the
deployable cover equipment found in Halo 3. While I appreciate the inclusion of
both, I’m not really a fan of either of these additions. Although the weapons
stand is able to hold all three weapons, it looks boring. The build is simple
and the solid purple color look bland. The deployable cover looks extremely
awkward. Compared to how it looks in game, the shield is way too short. Unless
he was crouching or sitting, the Elite seems fairly vulnerable to headshots and
other attacks. The design on the shield itself has a bunch of electric lines
all over the place for some reason ; it looks weird and fails to capture the
look of the actual thing.
I don’t really like this set all that much. The deployable cover
shield is awkward, the weapons stand is too simple, and the Elite looks sort of
plain. The painted weapons are definitely the main reason I would get this.
Other than that, the set feels pretty lacking.
